Egypt and Japan to Strengthen Economic Partnership Amid 70 Years of Diplomatic Ties

Egypt and Japan are set to enhance their economic partnership, focusing on industrial development, human development, and private sector investment as key areas of cooperation.

Rania Al-Mashat, Egypt’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, held a virtual meeting with Japanese Ambassador Oka Hiroshi, discussing the future of bilateral relations. The talks emphasized leveraging Japanese expertise in these fields and planning a high-level policy dialogue in August to further align with Egypt’s 2030 Development Vision.

Al-Mashat highlighted the strong progress in Egyptian-Japanese relations, noting significant advancements in various sectors, including trade, healthcare, and education. The meeting also addressed upcoming financing initiatives from Japanese institutions, such as JICA and JBIC, particularly in the energy sector.

As Egypt and Japan celebrate 70 years of diplomatic ties, both nations look forward to deepening their strategic partnership, with Al-Mashat planning a visit to Japan to coincide with the anniversary, aiming to solidify future collaborations.
