Japan and Jordan Strengthen Diplomatic Ties in Meeting Between Yoshimasa and Prince El Hassan

Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi Yoshimasa met with His Royal Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in a 20-minute discussion aimed at reinforcing the longstanding relationship between the two nations. This year marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Jordan, making the meeting particularly significant.

During the meeting, Hayashi welcomed Prince El Hassan’s visit to Japan and reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to working alongside Jordan to promote peace and stability in the region, recognizing Jordan as a crucial player in maintaining regional stability.

Prince El Hassan conveyed a letter from His Majesty King Abdullah II addressed to Prime Minister Ishiba, emphasizing the importance of the partnership between Jordan and Japan. He highlighted their shared interests in addressing various regional challenges and reiterated that Japan remains a close and invaluable partner in these efforts.

Both leaders concurred on the necessity of continuing their collaborative work to tackle mutual concerns, underscoring the enduring bond between Japan and Jordan as they navigate complex regional dynamics together.
