Belgian Ambassador Explores Hokuriku Region Strengthening Ties with Japanese Sister Cities

Belgian Ambassador to Japan, Antoine Evrard, visited the Hokuriku region, where she met with the mayors of Kanazawa and Komatsu—sister cities of Ghent and Vilvoorde in Belgium—as well as officials from Fukui City. The ambassador also held discussions with the Governors of Ishikawa and Fukui Prefectures.

Beyond official courtesy calls, the visit emphasized academic, cultural, and business exchanges, highlighting the strong ties between Belgium and Japan. The trip underscored the importance of fostering collaboration and mutual understanding between the two nations at both local and regional levels.
