The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan, in collaboration with the Danish, Irish, and Swedish Chambers of Commerce, will host a critical seminar titled “Navigating Japan’s SME M&A Market: Challenges and Opportunities” on April 9. The event, to be held at L’Espace CCIFJ in Tokyo, will feature Satoru Tanaka, Representative Director of Pear Capital Inc., as the keynote speaker.
The seminar will address the urgent challenges facing Japan’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), such as aging business owners, succession issues, and labor shortages. With SMEs accounting for over 99% of businesses in Japan, their survival is essential to the nation’s economic stability. Attendees will gain insights into the latest M&A trends, regulatory updates, and strategies to navigate the evolving SME landscape.
The event will also offer networking opportunities with SME owners, entrepreneurs, and industry experts, fostering discussions on innovation and growth strategies.
This cross-chamber initiative underscores the growing importance of M&A in revitalizing Japan’s SME sector and equipping businesses with the tools to thrive in a challenging market.
