Ambassador Sibi George and Lt. General Toriumi Seiji, Commanding General of the 1st Division of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF), officially opened the sixth edition of Exercise Dharma Guardian at Camp Itazuma, located at the foothills of Mount Fuji. The exercise, held in the East Fuji Field Maneuver Area, marks a significant milestone with its enhanced scope and scale, reflecting the deepening defense cooperation between the Indian Army and JGSDF.

The Indian Army contingent arrived in Japan on Saturday to participate in the bilateral exercise, which aims to strengthen military ties, share best practices, and enhance interoperability between the two forces. Exercise Dharma Guardian underscores the growing strategic partnership between India and Japan, contributing to regional stability and security.

In another event, Ambassador Sibi George welcomed a delegation of Indian Members of Parliament with a dinner at India House in Tokyo. The event celebrated the delegation’s visit to Japan, fostering bilateral ties and strengthening diplomatic relations between the two nations.
