This weekend, Ireland’s vibrant culture takes center stage in Japan as St. Patrick’s Day celebrations kick off in Kumamoto and Matsue. Diplomats from the Embassy of Ireland will join local parades and festivals, inviting everyone to don green attire and enjoy the festivities, whether they’re familiar with Ireland or not.

Looking ahead to 2025, the Ireland Japan Chamber of Commerce will host the largest Irish event in Asia, the Green Ireland Festival (GIF), on March 15-16 at Yoyogi Park Events Square in Tokyo. This two-day extravaganza will feature Irish whiskey, beer, gourmet food, live music, dancing, and a lively parade on Omotesando Street on March 16. The festival, a favorite among families, friends, and the local Irish community, promises a fun-filled weekend celebrating all things Irish.
