State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Hisayuki Fujii, welcomed yesterday Yalchin Rafiyev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, for a courtesy call in Tokyo. The meeting highlighted bilateral cooperation in economic and environmental initiatives.
State Minister Fujii expressed Japan’s anticipation for Azerbaijan’s participation in Expo 2025, set to open in Osaka in April, and emphasized the importance of the Japan-Azerbaijan Joint Economic Conference in boosting economic ties. He also commended Azerbaijan’s leadership as the COP29 Presidency and reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to collaborating on climate action at COP30.
Deputy Minister Rafiyev shared Azerbaijan’s preparations for Expo 2025 and its enthusiasm for advancing economic relations with Japan. He also welcomed the upcoming Informal Meeting on Further Actions against Climate Change, scheduled to take place in Tokyo from March 13.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation in decarbonization and economic development, underscoring the growing partnership between the two nations.
