Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Akiko Ikuina welcomed yesterday journalists from Japan, China, and South Korea participating in the 9th Trilateral Journalists Exchange Program. During the 20-minute meeting, Ikuina highlighted the progress in trilateral cooperation since the resumption of the Japan-China-ROK Summit in May 2023, the first in four and a half years. She emphasized Japan’s commitment to fostering future-oriented collaboration among the three nations during its chairmanship.
Ikuina expressed hope that the program would deepen mutual understanding and friendship among journalists, enabling them to better appreciate each other’s perspectives. The delegation echoed the importance of trilateral cooperation and multi-layered exchanges, including among media professionals.
The Trilateral Journalists Exchange Program, organized by the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS), brings together 12 journalists—four from each country—to visit Beijing, Tokyo, and Seoul, promoting cross-cultural understanding and dialogue.
