Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya welcomed yesterday the Japanese American Leadership Delegation (JALD) and the U.S.-Japan Council, led by President and CEO Audrey Yamamoto, for a courtesy call in Tokyo. The delegation, comprising 10 prominent Japanese American leaders from across the U.S., was invited by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the 25-minute meeting, Minister Iwaya praised the delegation for their role as a bridge between the two nations, emphasizing that Japanese Americans are a “treasure” for U.S.-Japan relations. He expressed Japan’s commitment to supporting Japanese American communities to further strengthen bilateral trust and cooperation.
The delegation thanked Japan for the invitation and shared their experiences from a recent visit to Hiroshima Prefecture. They reaffirmed their dedication to enhancing U.S.-Japan relations through their diverse roles and initiatives.
The meeting highlighted the enduring ties and mutual efforts to deepen collaboration between the two countries.
