Korean, Chinese Foreign Ministers Likely to Meet in Tokyo

South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi are expected to hold bilateral talks in Tokyo on March 22, on the sidelines of a trilateral meeting with Japan, Yonhap reported.

While Seoul and Beijing discussed Wang’s possible visit to South Korea, it remains uncertain. If the visit does not materialize, the Cho-Wang meeting will take place in Tokyo, marking their first since September 2024 at the UN General Assembly.

The talks may cover key diplomatic issues, including Taiwan, trade tariffs, and a possible visit by President Xi Jinping to South Korea for the 2025 APEC summit.
