The pinnacle of the Sri Lankan-style stupa being constructed at Nagoya Siri Samadhi Viharaya was ceremoniously placed at the Sri Lankan Embassy. The sacred casket containing the pinnacle had arrived in Japan earlier, brought by Most Venerable Godamunne Amithasara Thero, Chief Incumbent of the temple, and received at Narita Airport by Ms. Thilini Gunarathna, Counsellor of the Embassy.
After being placed at the Sri Lankan Embassy, where religious observances were conducted, an alms-giving ceremony for the visiting Thero was offered by Ms. Sesath Thambugala, Charge d’Affaires a.i., along with the Embassy staff. The pinnacle was then transported to Nagoya by the temple’s patrons committee.
This significant event marks a key milestone in the construction of the stupa, symbolizing the cultural and spiritual ties between Sri Lanka and Japan.
