The Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) inaugurated yesterday the 9th Trilateral Journalist Exchange Program (TJEP) in Beijing, marking the program’s return to its full format of visiting China, Japan, and South Korea for the first time since the pandemic. Under the theme “Trilateral Cooperation: Towards a Shared Future,” the week-long event brings together 12 journalists from the three nations to explore the future of trilateral collaboration.
Deputy Secretary-General ZUSHI Shuji of TCS delivered opening remarks, highlighting the vital role of journalists in fostering mutual understanding and shaping public opinion. He urged participants to uncover meaningful stories that promote a positive atmosphere and contribute to a prosperous future for China, Japan, and South Korea.
The delegation visited China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, meeting with Deputy Director-General HAN Mei of the Department of Asian Affairs and attending a press conference. They also toured Yangwang Auto, a leading Chinese electric vehicle company, where they experienced cutting-edge intelligent driving technology. The program included immersive cultural activities, offering journalists a deeper appreciation of China’s heritage.
Following their time in Beijing, the journalists will travel to Tokyo and Seoul for further discussions, site visits, joint interviews, and cultural exchanges, strengthening ties and fostering collaboration among the three nations.
