Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan, Atadurdy Bayramov, participated in the Tokyo Marathon 2025, one of the world’s most prestigious running events. Held in the Japanese capital, the marathon attracted over 38,000 participants from across the globe, challenging runners to complete the 42.195-kilometer course.
In an interview with media representatives, Ambassador Bayramov emphasized Turkmenistan’s strong commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and sports, particularly among its youth. He highlighted the comprehensive strategy initiated by the National Leader of Turkmenistan and consistently implemented by the President, which has created ideal conditions in Ashgabat to support physical activity and sports development.
The Ambassador also noted Turkmenistan’s global leadership in advancing sports initiatives, including resolutions adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. These include the United Nations Friendship Games Resolution, the declaration of 3 June as World Bicycle Day, and the integration of bicycling into public transportation systems for sustainable development.
Additionally, Bayramov underscored the active cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan in the field of sports, particularly in preparing Turkmen judokas for major international competitions.
The Ambassador’s participation in the Tokyo Marathon not only showcased Turkmenistan’s dedication to sports and healthy living but also strengthened the cultural and diplomatic ties between Turkmenistan and Japan.
